Donna Kishbaugh's Bio

Donna Kishbaugh is a mixed media/found objects/collage artist who creates one-of-a-kind art handbags, jewelry, tin art, and other items. Her artwork is strongly influenced by her theatrical background and her extensive travels abroad where she continues to find many items to use in her works of art.

Donna was born and raised in Sheridan, Indiana. She earned her BA in Arts and Sciences with a theater major and minors in both art and anthropology from Indiana University. She then moved to Chicago and received her MA from the prestigious Fiction Writing Program at Columbia College. After 20 years of Chicago living, Donna recently returned to Indiana with her family, writer Greg Kishbaugh, and two children Dagan and Bronwyn, where her work as an artist continues to grow and intensify.

Donna created artwork for the grand reopening of the Eiteljorg Museum in downtown Indianapolis, as well as for the Georgia O’Keeffe exhibits at both the Eiteljorg and the Boise Museum of Art in Boise, Idaho. She created and presented art to former members of the Clash at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last October. She has had several shows at DVA Gallery in Chicago, most recently a Tiki Exhibition for the gallery’s anniversary. She has been commissioned to do artwork, as well, and has presented her artwork to actress Dakota Fanning, celebrities Sharon and Kelly Osbourne and the Pontani Sisters, among others.

Currently, Donna produces art jewelry for the rock group Southern Culture on the Skids, which is sold at the group’s concerts nationwide. Donna has recently had several shows at the Carmel Barnes & Noble; and The SullivanMunce Center in Zionsville. She also entered Red Bull Art of Can 2007---two of her pieces were chosen for the Red Bull Out of Home Campaign. Donna has donated work to organizations such as the Heartland Film Festival, and to charitable events such as the Eiteljorg Museum’s Buckaroo Bash, the Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation for Nursing fund raiser, Spare Time for a Cure (a Walter Payton charity), and the Indianapolis I.W.I.N. Foundation. Donna is available to do commissions. Be sure to check out Donna's items for sale on etsy.com (username: theartofdonna).
